Make Beeswax Candles

!±8± Make Beeswax Candles

You can make beeswax candles in just a few short minutes. But it takes a very long time to learn the process. No it doesn't. You will learn all you need to know to make beeswax candles in the next few paragraphs.

Go to your local craft store and get a sheet (or sheets) of candle wax. They will come in candle making size (like 10" x 16"). And get a good quality wick (you can get it in spools). That's all the things you need sorry it can't be more complicated then this (ha).

Choose which ever edge you want, the 16" edge if you want it tall and thin or the 10" if you want it shorter and fatter. Cut the wick slightly longer then the edge (17" or 11") and place the wick along the edge so the extra half inch is hanging out of the sides. Now fold the edge over the wick so there is a firm connection between the wax and the wick. Now that the wick is sealed continue rolling up the sheet while watching what will be the top and bottom edges of the candle to make sure you are rolling the sheet nice and straight.

When it is all rolled up to the end the edge along the length of your new candle will not be flush with the surface. Your body heat will be enough so that you can take your thumb and press and rub the edge so it will blend in with the surface of the candle. Clip the wick to a quarter of an inch on the end you choose as the top of the candle and cut the wick flush with the surface on the candle bottom.

And that's it; from those 3 paragraphs you now know how to make beeswax candles. But why make beeswax candles and not the other kinds of wax candles? You can use the other types of wax and you should but none of them will be this fast and easy. Plus beeswax candles have other great benefits. Let's talk about them.

If you've ever been to the beach and for no obvious reason you just felt better, perhaps even kind of euphoric, it is because there is a predominance of negative ions at the beach. The garbage and pollutants in the air we breathe are positive ions. Well guess what? The great news is beeswax candles give off negative ions. It's like having an air purifier in your room. How nice is that? For that and other reasons beeswax candles are good for you. Yes good for your health.

Ever heard of aroma therapy? It is the use of fragrances for therapeutic benefits. Different aromas provide various physiological and psychological benefits. Well beeswax candles have a sweet smelling honey like scent that gives you a feeling of calmness and well being.

Oh and let's not forget the light of the beeswax candle. Unlike other waxes beeswax flames don't sputter or flicker and the beautiful yellow flame burns brighter then other candles and gives off a visually pleasing warm colored glow around the room.
